Abstract
Landfill leachatecontainsheavyorganicpollutants,whichpollute ground andsurfacewaters.Thisdatasetappliedanewly-intro- duced catalyst,Cu/Mg/Al-chitosan,foralandfill leachatetreatment during acatalyticoxidation.Thedataofchemicaloxygendemand (COD) andcolourremovalfromtheleachatewasreportedasa function ofreactiontime(20–460 min).Economicevaluationdata of theCu/Mg/Al-chitosan-O3 systemshowedthatthecurrentcost of thesystemfortreatingeachm3 leachate isUS$18andforcat- alystsynthesisisUS$54.5.Datacouldbeusefulfromenviron- mental andeconomicperspectivestothoseconcernedabout landfill leachatethreats.
